The project<\/h1>\n
Langen Group is an industrial\u00a0packaging machinery producer. These machines are controlled by an operator through the use of a control panel including a resistive touchscreen from which different parameters can be set and processes can be controlled and monitored. VanBerlo was commissioned\u00a0to review and visualize\u00a0the current\u00a0structure of the machine’s user interface.\u00a0A new\u00a0styling proposal should also be defined to\u00a0adequately fit the system, both in terms of the professional look that is sought-after, as well as the system\u2019s technical limitations.<\/p>\n
Research and analysis<\/h2>\n
On-site visits to Langen were organized in order to gather more information regarding the products affected by the new UI guidelines. The visit aimed to collect general background information about the product, the context of use and the end users.<\/p>\n

A workshop with\u00a0Langen engineers\u00a0was organized to\u00a0review the current\u00a0navigation structure\u00a0and changes were proposed the basis of the identified key aspects of the on-site visit.<\/p>\n
Conceptualization and styling<\/h2>\n
The revised structure was then visualized as screen\u00a0mockups and a single styling proposal (based on VanBerlo\u2019s experience with similar products) was developed and applied to a selection of representative screens.<\/p>\n

Production support<\/h2>\n
There was a constant communication with the developers as part of the projects production support.\u00a0This resulted in requests for new types of screens from new machines,\u00a0which fell outside the scope of the original guidelines. The graphical assets for implementation of the software were exported according to the necessary slicing required\u00a0by the developers.<\/p>\n
